TERM 3 WK8
PETITE COMPANY
KTL & STRETCH - SATURDAYS
STEP 1 - WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO CATCH OUR ANKLE AND HOLD. START LEANING ON SOMETHING AND EVENTUALLY BALANCE BY YOURSELF
THIS KEEPS THE HIPS FROM TWISTING
YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE YOUR BACK IS AS TALL AS YOU CAN, AND PULL YOUR LEG AS CLOSE TO YOUR FACE WITH STRAIGHT KNEES
STEP 2 - WE MUST CATCH THE ANKLE
WE MUST HAVE STRAIGHT LEGS, AND THEN WE TRY TO RISE ONTO OUR TOE AND HOLD FOR AT LEAST 2 COUNTS... LONGER IS EVEN BETTER
Jump Jete & Firebird
watch the knees and feet! back legs HIGH
HAMSTRINGS
PUSH THE BELLY BUTTON FORWARD AND FACE TO TOES
KNEES PRESS INTO FLOOR
LEARNING TO ACTIVATE THE CORE
OVERSPLITS - KNEES MUST ALWAYS BE STRAIGHT
Hold 30sec-1 min
when you stretch at home, try to keep knes lifted up off the floor and stretch the back of leg - even if it means your further away from the floor as this will increase flexibility over time.
Relax the knees over your blocks, engage the quads an extend teh legs pressing into the blocks so the feet lift up heel
legs rotated out - its all about stretching the backs of the knees repeat multiple times
STRETCHING OUR HAMSTRINGS & NERVES
make sure the feet are parralel and knees are straight
STRETCHING OUR HAMSTRINGS & NERVES
use the wall to help you stretch
CORRECTING TURN POSTURE
The back heel up, front foot flat
knees nice & bent, tumy tight, hips in
The star is were we want our toe
next to our knee, high and pointed
The knee should be high & flat like a table
toe pointed, back flat, tummy in
We need to be able to balance on our toe!
Then we add the spin, turning tothe direction the knee we lift
(right knee up turn to the right, left knee up turn to the left)
